Bartending school refers to private education businesses that teach individuals the many intricacies of serving customers alcohol from behind a bar. This includes not only classes in such topics as drinks mixology: the intricacies of mixing drinks and drink presentation, and the alcohol laws of the city and state in which the school is situated. It is not required to have a license to bartend. It is required that each bartender pass an Alcohol Certification course for their particular state, which is typically part of the curriculum of a bartending school.〔(State regulations for bartenders, sellers and servers )〕 There are many bartending schools in every state. Some offer only a few hours of instruction, others offer up to 40 hours. Experts point out that a course should be from 32 – 40 hours in length to cover all the required material thoroughly. Only courses that are at least 12 hours in length are certified by a state’s board of education or board of vocational or postsecondary education〔Kathryn Tuggle (The Truth About Bartending School )''Fox News'', Feb 21 2013〕 Bartending has come a long way since the 1960s when no one was concerned about the consequences of drunk driving. Today, all schools offer training in Alcohol Awareness and how to deal with underage drinkers and aggressive customers in an attempt to prevent drunk driving.〔(American Bartender Association ) Benefits of Bartender Certification〕 This is part of the certification a bartender must earn to serve customers. ==Curriculum== In addition to the Alcohol Awareness Course, students learn everything required to run a bar, from set up to breakdown. They learn the brands of liquors and liqueurs, recipes for the most popular drinks (mixology), and drink presentation. They become familiar with a vast range of alcohol products. They are also trained in customer service, up-selling to customers, and procedures in taking payment. Most schools also offer training in how to act at a job interview. Many bar schools have their students train using colored water to simulate the various types of alcohol. Others believe that their students must train by using the real thing. The best schools also have mock bars behind which their students can train in a realistic way.〔Katie Corrado (Exclusive look inside unique bartending school in Baldwinsville ) CNY Central, Feb 20, 2013〕 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Bartending school」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
